The Run Sandringham Half Marathon is a challenging 50% on road, 50% off road race, taking place in the Sandringham Royal estate. Starting on grass the changing between Tarmac, forest trails, thick grass and soft pine forest tracks, this race is not for the faint of heart. whilst the scenery around the course is beautifully kept gardens and woodland, the heat that day lead to people soon stripping off long sleeves and t shirts to don only their vests.
The Medal
A metal pendant featuring Sandringham house with 2 runners, the date and the name of the race in the casting with a brushed finish and distressed background. disappointingly, it seems that the same medals are used for the community mile and 5k races as all 3 distances are mentioned on the medal, meaning everyone that worked for the half marathon get the same medal as someone that ran 5k.
The overall quality of the medal is what you would expect from ‘Good Running Events’ who organised it, its a high quality and large medal with a high quality finish and space for an iTab insert.

The Ribbon is soft and silky with high quality printing displaying the race name and logo along with the race organisers branding, i do feel that the organisers should scale back their branding in this instance as it dwarfs that of the event name and logo.
Overall I rate this medal 6/10
The additional distances displayed on the medal with all that implies and the branding on the ribbon from the organiser really bring this medal down, different medals between the distances and more subdued branding would improve this medal greatly.
