Full disclosure, I was previously a member of Wymondham Athletics club’s committee, however ill try to be as impartial as possible when talking about this race and medal.
The Wymondham new years day run traditionally happens ( as you could guess) on new years day. however this special 40 year anniversary edition was held on the 2nd of January and follows the same route as the EAMA 10k route, from Ladies lane in Wymondham runners take to the countryside and complete a lap around Morley on a as-hill-as-wymondham-can-muster route before returning back to the Start/Finish line.
The Medal
A high quality die cast silver coloured medal with enamel colouring detail displaying the Wymondham Athletics Club Logo, a depiction of Wymondham Abby and Anniversary 2023 written beneath. smaller size but with a decent weight and glossy finish. design considerations mean that the ribbon mounting isn’t awkwardly placed like some other medals and blends it into the rest of the design.

The Ribbon is a vibrant maroon and is high quality printed including the date, Distance , Club Logo and 40th Anniversary. The material is soft and silky and the stitching is clean and well done with no loose ends.
I rate this medal 8/10
a slightly larger pendant would be better, but the medal is by no means diminutive, additional ITab inserts could also be added, but like the EAMA medal, this may not be possible for a smaller, local race.
