Run Norwich 2025

Since the Amsterdam marathon, I’ve taken some time away from running, 2 marathons in a year may be ok for some, but for me it ruined running, I had it in my head that every run was a 3+ hour long run and I wasn’t up for slogging my guts out. But I’m back for another lap of Norwich to relight some mojo ahead of the Edinburgh marathon next year.

Run Norwich 10K starts at Norwich market and works its way around the castle, Carrow road football stadium and the cathedral before ending up back at the market, considering Norfolk is known for being flat, this race manages to find all of the hills it can, leading competitors from the football ground up to the castle, and through tomblands back to the finish line, however the race is extremely well attended and sells out in hours.

The Medal

note that this review is identical to the 2023 and 2024 review of the same race, because, the medal is nearly identical apart from the date in the casting and the colour of the ribbon..

This is a high quality metal medal with a polished finish and details in the casting featuring Norwich skyline and the name and date of the run. For a Medal it feels very heavy and premium. It also features an iTab insert for those that want to commemorate their achievement.

Weight117g
Dimensions62mm x 62mm

The ribbon matches the quality of the pendant, soft and silky with high quality yellow, white and black printing displaying the name and date of the Race and a 10 year celebration message instead of stitching, the ends of the ribbon are head bonded together leaving a low profile and aesthetically pleasing finish.

Overall I rate this medal 8/10

despite the lack of colour on the medal, the finish is impeccable and the size and weight of the pendant is substantial, paired with the high quality ribbon it makes this an understated but nonetheless valuable award.
