The Dereham Runners 10 mile race starts at Dereham High school and makes a loop east into a rural test of stamina and mental fortitude, the stamina – because some light rolling hills over 10 miles soon add up, and the mental fortitude – because the beginning and last 4km take place along a stretch of relatively busy road.
The Medal
The medal is small and brass coloured diecast depicting 2 people running toward one of Norfolks famous windmills with enamel colouring.
| Weight | 43g |
| Dimensions | 51mm Dia. |
| Material | Metal and enamel |
The Ribbon is dual coloured with the race name, distance and date printed on it, however the material is coarse and terminates to the pendant with a small metal ring, making it difficult to present straight as it has a habit of rotating.
Overall I rate this medal 5/10
The poor quality ribbon, ribbon mounting and the size and basic design of the medal let it down when compared to the competition in the area.
