The Marham 10k is slightly special. organised by the Marham Flyers and with special dispensation from RAF Marham, entrants get to run 10k around an active RAF base! the shine is soon worn off this novelty however, the surface is beautiful virgin tarmac but the route is devoid of any other landmarks apart from hangers, this race is deceptive, its open nature also exposes runners to the elements in a way that other races dont, and the day of the race was a scorcher with no shade anywhere on the route. In ideal conditions this would be a strong PB race contender.
The Medal
First of all, the goodie bag. I dont normally talk about the extras given out at the end of the race, however this race came with a bag containing sweets, biscuits, drinks and more, of all the races ive done this race is in the top 3 for swag bags received at the end.
The Medal is an absolute unit, the size of my palm and weighty. Its a high quality metal and enamel circular pendant cast into the medal is a breached dam flooding water and soldiers rushing through the breach backed up by a Lancaster bomber representing the dam busters, surrounding this scene is a blue boarder with RAF roundels and ‘Dams Raid 80th Anniversary Commemorative 10K Run’ cast into it
| Weight | 112g |
| Dimensions | 90mm Dia. |
| Material | Metal and enamel |

The Quality of the ribbon matches the quality of the pendant. soft, silky and extremely broad, the RAF Marham crest is printed next to the name of the race in very high quality. the pièce de résistance of this ribbon is the included pin badge of a fighter jet that can be used to adorn the medal.
Overall i rate this medal 9/10
Its hefty but extremely high quality paired with the beautiful ribbon and pin badge make this one of the crown jewels of my collection
