The Worstead 5 mile organised by the North Norfolk Beach Runners takes place during the Worstead Festival, a family fun day that raises money for local charities, the race is an undulating loop around the surrounding countryside. The race is well supported by festival goers and marshals, but best of all, plenty of food vans and beer tents await the finishers!
The Medal
The medal is made of wood with laser engraved detailing featuring the organisers logo, race name, and date. The quality of the engraving is good but being a wooden medal, there is very little weight to it, and lacks the feeling of prestige that I feel a medal should.
| Weight | 28g |
| Dimensions | 74 mm dia. |
| Material | Wood |
The ribbon is a particular weakness to this medal, it is plasticky and feels cheap, the name of the race is printed on it poorly, the stitching is rough and really could be a lot better.
Overall I rate this medal 3/10
I understand that the race is held to raise money for charities and the medals do subtract from that total, but this website is a subjective look at the medals provided, and this one has not faired well. The wooden medal paired with diabolical ribbon make this one of the worst in my collection.
